There is no one-size-fits-all solution for caregiver support.
We recognize that every caregiving situation is different and individual caregivers require different kinds of help and support. It can be a challenging role that many step into unexpectedly, without any training. So quick and easy access to a range of information and advice is critical to ensuring caregivers are providing effective care to their loved ones. Unfortunately, that range of support isn’t always available where and when it’s needed.
Making the right support available at the right time, in the right way.
Through our support, the Saskatoon Council on Aging (SCOA) is working to expand the range of support programs they offer and improve access to more information for all caregivers. That includes updating the SCOA’s website to include caregiver resources, delivering virtual presentations, establishing chat groups, and providing telephone support and a caregiver hotline. These initiatives will provide a broad range of information and support systems that address both immediate and long-term needs for caregivers, accessible in formats that are timely, effective and convenient.
We’re pleased to help the SCOA improve access to the practical supports & information caregivers need.
