Canadian Home Care Association
The Canadian Home Care Association (CHCA) is a recognized authority advancing initiatives that address national priorities in home and community care.
Through its priority program, Carers Canada, the CHCA coordinates an annual national awareness campaign – National Caregiver Day – to recognize the importance of the invisible work carried out by family caregivers. This annual initiative takes place on the first Tuesday of April and has been unanimously adopted by the Members of Parliament of Canada. With the support of Petro‑Canada™ and the Petro‑Canada CareMakers Foundation™, the CHCA expanded its reach to formally recognize family caregivers across the country and spread knowledge about experiences in caregiving, the impact COVID-19 has had on the caregiving community and ways Canadians can show their support.
